YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

First protected in 1864, and designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognised for its granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves, lakes, mountains, meadows, glaciers, and huge amount of biological diversity. Almost 95 percent of the park is designated wilderness, with Yosemite is one of the largest and least fragmented habitat blocks in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It was such an incredible and amazing, surreal experience driving into the valley floor for the first time, and thus Yosemite cemented itself into our hearts as a place that we are going to have to continue to return to in order to discover all her mysteries.
