SERIES: ON THE MOON

A few weeks ago, I went with a couple of friends to Ohau Ski Field - first time going to the place and didn’t really know what to expect from it as a small club field in the middle of Canterbury (not like what I am used to skiing in New Zealand), but there was no way I was going to be going anywhere without my camera, of course. I had no need to worry, as we were greeted by bright bluebird conditions and good fast spring slush that we rode all day before the weather set in the next day and we were forced to abandon our little road trip. However, not before getting some insane images to share with you guys.

One element of alpine landscapes I’ve started to really explore this winter is the lighting that is present, natural shadows and contrasts that are dictated by the landscape. Ridge lines and rocks cast shadows and change the look of the scene as the sun changes where it sits through the day, but the same landscape can change so drastically in that time and look completely different to how it appeared just a few hours before.

More recently, I’ve begun to notice the similarities between these environments and images I’ve seen of the moon. Outer-worldly, barren, beautiful scenery that is not experienced by many people. Abstract landscapes that may not be fully understood, but is appreciated nonetheless. And because of that, we have decided to release our latest series: ON THE MOON.

This is our first series since visiting Yosemite National Park in California (a place that we are dying to get back to and explore) but we are incredibly happy with how these images turned out. These images were edited using our new 2021 Preset Pack as a base, which you can purchase from our online store to push your own images to the next level.

We now have this full series available on our ONLINE STORE to purchase as a series, or individual prints, and they also look absolutely amazing on their own to fill empty spaces in any home, or as a full series out on display for the world to see. Check out the rest of the images from the collection below and let us know what you think.

Peace,

Josh x
