DEDICATION TO EXPLORATION

I don’t know where to begin!

The last few weeks have been crazy - changing jobs (I now work down on a marina in South Lake Tahoe, in and out of the crystal clear, blue water and on and off boats all day - it could be worse), moving house and having my own room again (which is amazing with such cool roommates who have two absolutely awesome dogs), new camera gear and still finding time for adventures!

Kenzie and I went exploring a few weeks ago to Skunk Harbour. The north shore is something completely different, I thought South Lake was incredible - this was astounding. The water is no warmer but the clarity and depth to the colours I saw was phenomenal. Secluded and private, this would have to have been one of my favourite places along the lake so far.

Work came and went and then we planned an impromptu, quick trip to Fort Bragg, a 6 hour drive from Lake Tahoe back to the west coast of California. Turns out with the amount of sea fog and lack of elevation, the sea change was a lot colder than being in the mountains was but even though conditions weren’t quite what was expected, the coast brought back feelings that can’t be described if you’re not from the ocean. I could taste salt in the air and feel my skin stick because of the salt carried by the wind - it was familiar. But I think that being away from the ocean for so long has just made me appreciate being around it even more than I did before.
