THINKING OUT LOUD
Just a thought - You can have a perfect plan, everything great on paper but it’s basically pointless until you get your ass out of the chair and act. Hear me out.
PERSONAL PROPINQUITY
If you’re reading this, you’ll find it to be a little more of a personal appreciation post rather than a business related or content related one, however I also hope it will show a more personal side to my life and what I do with myself when I am not shooting and creating content for the world to see.
WELCOME TO JAPAN
I’ll apologise in advance if this article doesn’t sound quite right when you read it because Right now my brain feels a little mushy and English is hard because Japanese is harder.
LIMITED EDITION: FIRESTONE
It was just two days ago that we were able to release what is personally one of my favourite images that The Liquid Collective has shot to date.
WE HAVE YOUTUBE?!
YES - we do! It’s a new thing, we’ve only been seeing each other for about a week now but it’s going well so far. We’re aiming to see each other at least once a week at the moment, but you can keep an eye on our progress.
NEW CONTENT, NEW BEGINNINGS
So.Chances are if you follow a little of my work you’ve seen some changes happening lately (sorry if we confused you too - we were more confused than anyone for a few weeks there…). Not with the fantastic, amazing, travel-inspiring (okay, enough adjectives used here) photos and content that keeps popping up in your feed - that’s all the same - but with how we look.
MATT + MARISA
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to play with some new gear and take a few photos for a couple of special people in my life. Marisa had surprised Matt for his birthday by coming to Australia for a month with her sister and brother, and what better way to test new gear than with an impromptu photoshoot!
RAMBLINGS
So. I don’t even know where to begin. This blog is going to be a regular part of the JDK world, documenting and showcasing behind the scenes aspects of the work that goes in to produce some of these incredible images and give a general glimpse into the not so glamorous life of a photographer.
WE JUST COASTING
We’ve all seen an abundance of images and footage from drones exploding on the market in the last few months just like the ones you are about to see below. Flying captivates humans and it always has, and will continue to do so.
NEW YEAR, NEW ME, ALL THAT…
2017 is finally here! So I really had no idea what to write for this blog - I haven’t shot for a week or so now because of the whole Christmas and New Year business and I have been working as much as I can on getting the back end of JDK Photography consistent and as professional as possible (one of my own new year resolutions, amongst others).
DEDICATION TO EXPLORATION
I don’t know where to begin! The last few weeks have been crazy - changing jobs (I now work down on a marina in South Lake Tahoe, in and out of the crystal clear, blue water and on and off boats all day - it could be worse), moving house and having my own room again (which is amazing with such cool roommates who have two absolutely awesome dogs), new camera gear and still finding time for adventures!
NYC
The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy! And, at the same time, offered a much needed break from the stresses and mundane actions of job hunting and apartment hunting for the summer. I headed east to the other side of the United States, to New Jersey, to spend time with family for a few weeks.
GEAR!!!
Travelling is fast becoming something I have experienced much more of in the past 6 months. I have travelled before with family and a few times by myself but in October 2015, I set of with my mum to Japan for two weeks, came back for less than 48 hours and left on a minimum 12 month trip to America and possibly other locations around the world.
